drew03cmc Posted June 10, 2007 Author Posted June 10, 2007 Ok, sorry to drag up a dead thread, but will the 6'6" throw a WF4F or DT5F line ok? If so, I am going to get one for catching trout, gills, bass, and anything else that decides to eat my flies...I need an urgent response please as I am purchasing something Thursday! Thank you very much. Andy
Terry Beeson Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Drew, I tried a 4wt, 5 wt, and 6 wt on mine. The 4wt did ok-fine, the 5wt did fine-pretty good, and the 6wt is the one that feels the best. Personally, I would go with the 5 over the 4, but then if you have a 6, try it... you'll like it... It's not so much about the line weight when it comes to fishing... WebFreeman Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Terry, are you trying to say that's it's not the size of the wave but the motion of the ocean? “Many go fishing all their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after.” — Henry David Thoreau Visit my web site @ webfreeman.com for information on freelance web design.

Terry Beeson Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 WF... I've always had to use the line, "it's not the size and length of the rod, it's what you do with the wolly bugger..." catman Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 I went to Roaring River Sat.(price was right) for most of the day a took along the little Eagle Claw 7' 5/6 to see how I would like it on trout in this condition, it roll casts very well....well I ended up using it all day and had a blast. Caught a couple of 15" but mostly the 12". I may have to get another one in case this one breaks. I just can't see using my 9'rod there!! I would like to get a 7'-6" in a nice rod, there's a lot of them to choose from. My next trip to RR I'm going to go talk to Tim up on the hill, I visited him in the AM, he has a nice shop and very knowledgable. I was born at night, but not last night. Odds are with the prepared...
drew03cmc Posted June 12, 2007 Author Posted June 12, 2007 What line were you using on the 5/6? I have considered getting that one also, but am just wondering... Andy

drew03cmc Posted June 13, 2007 Author Posted June 13, 2007 Cool! I may have to have one sent to my house for use on creeks and for bluegills. Did it seem to overpower the fish available to you or was it a nice balance? Andy
