Terry Beeson Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 GREAT idea, Leonard... TIGHT LINES, YA'LL  "There he stands, draped in more equipment than a telephone lineman, trying to outwit an organism with a brain no bigger than a breadcrumb, and getting licked in the process." - Paul O’Neil
LostMyWife Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Media in St Louis is up in arms becauuse the amber alert got delayed by 24 hours. Not sure how that happened. Yes, I'm That Guy
Steve Smith Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Dennis Miller has the best solution to track people who prey on children. Instead of using electronic tracking devices and therapy, just bury the person six foot under. That way you never have to worry about the offender’s whereabouts or what they are doing and think of the cost savings… no batteries, electronic devices, offender list, or parole officers are needed. ___________________________ AKA Flysmith - Cassville MO
mcp633 Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Speaking from the law enforcement prespective, the rules on issuing an amber alert are very strict. It's not an easy thing to get accomplished for a reason. Two examples comes to mind. Here in central Missouri last summer or spring there were two amber alerts issued that didn't need to be. One was an idiot making a false report about an abduction (he's in the hoosegow). The other was a guy picking up his kids from his mother-in-law for a custody hearing in Texas. Imagine his suprise when he was picked up in Texas for a child abduction in Missouri. It is a good system, but it uses a vast amount of resources. It's not unusual for the St. Louis media to blame law enforcement first and get the facts later. With that said, I know we'll all be praying for this child's safe return. I know the boots on the ground care as much as anyone. I'm sure the local, state, and federal authorities are doing a bang up job behind the scene. I get at least ten updates in leads a day from the state MIAC (MO Intelligence Analysis Center)on this case everyday. Steve, HUGE 10-4 on that!!!!!!! If you don't stand behind our troops, please feel free to stand in front of them

ollie Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Just really caught this last night. Terrible thing to imagine. I pray for his safe return. Doesn't sound like a kid how would go out on his own without someone knowing about it. I know I will be on the lookout around my own area, I hope everyone takes that kind of attitude also.
