Good point Thom! You know Ron White said it best "in Texas not only do we have the death penalty, we put in an express lane!"

At one time Texas actually had the lowest rate of violent crimes!

An old Copper told me once, Dead men tell no tales, and you only pay for them once to put them in the ground. Rather than paying for them the rest of their and our lives!

Just think, if this happened in Vermont or Colorado, he would already be out on bail.

I was at a Seminar this past summer. Our instructors were from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. They advised their laws are so lax that a life sentance in Canada is no more than 12 years, period!

Hopefully there will be enough people watching that something serious will happen. You know back in the day if you sent a sex offender or child abductor to prison his life expenctancy was short. Today it's different, the prison's are full of them!

Personally I'm a great fan of the "Killed while trying to escape" scenario. And while my opinion in the matter gives an attorney friend hives I think 'Vigilante Justice' still has a place in a society where the courts often seem to be the greatest threat to public welfare. Come to think of it the Reconstruction era practice of taking corrupt judges for a ride out of town on a rail might have a lot of application in this era of 'revolving door justice'.

But then I'm just an 'old fogey'.

"You need only reflect that one of the best ways to get yourself a reputation as a dangerous citizen these days is to go about repeating the very phrases which our founding fathers used in their struggle for independence." ---Charles Austin Beard
