Who's going? I plan on being there first thing in the morning. Always look forward to this every year.

Would go other than have obligations for Saturday so looks like a one-day to Montauk. We fished 3 days the last week of October and caught a bunch of big fish in the park and C&R.Several of these fish were in the double digit range and they should still be in the park.Unless someone got them in the last 2 days, you could hit it big.Keep us posted.

I'm going to have to wait until Saturday this year. Still looking forward to it.

If fishing was easy it would be called catching.

I love fishing in snowy weather. I just don't want ice.

I have a feeling there won't be many down there this year for opening day of C&R. Going to be a cold one for sure. Probably have to do the fish for awhile thing then run to the truck and fire up the heater. Then repeat the process again.

Not a bad opening day, but not the greatest I have had either. I ended up numbers wise with 29 for the day. Of course in the morning they came easier than in the afternoon. Most of mine caught were either on a ginger jig or an olive one that I tie. Saw most of the bigger trout in the upper end and hardly any trout at all in the lower end. oh, there were trout there, but to me it just seemed like not as many as years past. Some of the holes have changed I noticed as well. All in all it was a good time and I will be back again sometime before the C&R season ends. Oh yea, I didn't catch any thing big this year either. All of mine were cookie cutter size stockers. Biggest might have went 15".

I stayed in the upper end today. I was quite disappointed in the quality of fish I saw and caught. I had a few quick releases of good fish, but that was it. Maybe 2 fish that would push 15", but most in the 12" to 13" range with WAY too many 8 to 10" fish and a couple of 6 inchers mixed in. Glow bugs, san juans, zebra midges, and pheasant tails. The pheasant tail caught the most by far. I managed to catch a few more than 30 today. it wasn't boring, but it wasn't epic either. I did have a first today though. I had a double.....An 8" rainbow and a 3" sculpin. At first I thought the sculpin was a leaf. Lol. He took the glow bug and the rainbow took the only thing left, the san jaun worm.

I saw a variety of weather today, at about 11:00 it started to rain, then it started to sleet, then it rained again, then it spit a few snow flakes. Over all not a bad day. I could have been sitting at home or working.
