Mikey Posted January 12, 2007 Author Posted January 12, 2007 If ever i can catch anyone besides the purty ypung girls working there i will certainly ask 'em about it. Steve, i was poking around the BDS galleries and came upon the pic of andy nichols. didn't/doesn't he work at the woodsman? i used to buy reptiles and other critters off him at a pet store down here 10 yrs ago! mikey Each time I buy a new fly............ Thom Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Pretty good price for a camera with a 10x Leica optical lens and 5 mega pictal resolution. Unless you are interested in making enlargements over 5x7 you might want to set you resolution back to 3.2 meg. I do that so I can take more pics and then delete the ones I don't want later. Saves tons of space in your computer album when you upload them also. Thom Harvengt
Guest flyfishBDS Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Mikey, He may have but before my time, he's a good fisher.
Mikey Posted January 13, 2007 Author Posted January 13, 2007 he may fish well, but he sure killed one of my ball pythons. chanrged me $70 for a shot, died 2 days later. I only paid $65 for the whole darn snake. Bought it from him too! Can't fault him too much, herpetology is risky business and at least he tried to help me. Mikey Each time I buy a new fly............ Members hornyheadchub Posted January 15, 2007 Members Posted January 15, 2007 Perhaps the smartest thing you can do is keep a small piece of pure white plastic or paper with you to adjust the white balance every time you take photos. We've all seen digital photos that were taken in flourescent light that look yellow or blue, and photos taken in low light conditions around some incandescent bulbs that look yellowish or reddish. The trick here is to preset the white balance; this way the camera knows what is supposed to be white and makes the proper adjustments for color, contrast, etc. What Dutch said about an extra card and battery is spot on. Take tons of pics, load them to your computer and figure out how to best set up the camera for your different uses. As far a zip-loc bags, do youself one better and get an Otter box, a small dry bag or even a waterproof housing. Zip-loc bags will fail if really put to the test, I've seen it happen too many times. Lawrence Photo in Springfield has a great selection of Otter and Pelican waterproof cases. http://www.waterproofcases.net/ http://www.otterbox.com/ http://www.casesbypelican.com/pelican-case...CFR8iIgodwU_aGA
