trythisonemv Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 had a chance to get down to Capps creek conservation area this past saturday. river wAs in great shape and aside from the sprinkle I had a!very productive day. I brought 27 rainbow to hand. Thy varied in size from 4in to 17. I even had a 20 plus grab my fly and then run on Back into an undercut bank. I dead drifted an olive wooly bugger and to a fish every three casts. bite died about 12pm and I headed home. I found most fish in deep runs along banks that were dirt then dropped off to 4 or five feet of water. the dead drift was more productive then stripping it back. If i dig idn't get a hit on Drift I bounced it at the end and they'd take it then. Great fishery for small fly tackle. I used my 7ft full flex or is with some two lb flouro.
Buzz Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 I plan on fishing it next Sunday for Olliefest. Thanks for the report. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
trythisonemv Posted November 30, 2014 Author Posted November 30, 2014 Capps was clear today lots of spin fishers though. They have been fishing it hard. I walked half a mile and found fifteen or so in a deep log filled hole. No one else I talk too caught any. The biggest I caught was 19inches on a Bh prince
