Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 13, 2007 Root Admin Posted January 13, 2007 I bet they are Turner's Micro Jigs. About $3.50 each? I carry them in my shop here in Branson. Will have them online shortly. Welcome...
Thom Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 Where were you fishing on the lower Illinois? Near what town? I am at the confluence where it flows into the Mississippi. You can't get any lower than that and I never heard of any trout here? Hey snagged wouldn't it be great if we could go to Alton or Grafton and fish for browns and bows. Before anyone tells me how stupid I am I admit I didn't see the OK on the post. I googled lower Illinois river in OK. After reading the rave reviews I've got to do one of these areas this year. I still wish I could truck to Grafton and fish for bows there. Lots of walleye, sauger, crappie, Bass cats of all kinds etc etc though. Thom Harvengt
Zach Bearden Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Welcome ZackRo! A 21" bow? Might have been one of the ones that Marval stocks 3 times a year if it had a tag on it report it to marval it may be the one that they are still looking for...(A fly rod reel combo for the tag) But the only town that the lower illinois really passes is Gore and its also only about 8 miles long... (my town is so little we only have 900 people LOL!) Also check out Daves bait and tackle in gore also check out Harps they are the only places that would have tackle here in Gore. I caught it across the river from the first parking lot off of the highway before you get to the dam. there are some riffles that flow over some big rocks into a small pool. I was throwing those jigs right at the rocks above the pool and slowly retrieveing I didn't think i was going to land it i was using a ultralight spinning reel with 4 lb test.
Zach Bearden Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Did you put him back? Did you get a picture? "Its clearly Bree time baby!" Member: 2009 U.S. Youth Fly-Fishing Team.
