Dylan Cluver Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Heading to TN in late May for an anniversary trip. I will be doing a little fishing, (hopefully). I do not care to catch rainbows and browns, I REALLY want to catch brookies, them being my main interest. Does any one know specific streams to try, from my research there is a ton of water in the park. No one gripes about obese fish.
moguy1973 Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Here's a good website with all the streams in the park and which species are in each. http://www.flyfishingsmokymountains.com/streams.html Looks like Crosby Creek has a good number of brookies. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
ScottK Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Smoky Mountain Angler in Gatlinburg is worth a stop in. Nice folks with free detailed maps and will point you in the right direction. We were there last May, and the Greenbriar entrance to the park outside of Gatlinburg was where I had the best fishing and saw a LOT less people. (I was catching rainbows though). Brookie water can be found higher up this road. By the time I got up there it was pouring down rain and my wife wasnt interested in getting out of the car.
