JohnP Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Started out as a bow hunt this morning but after having half a dozen greenheads fly over not once but 3 times chuckling/heckling me decided to swap the bow for the gun and do a pond jump. Long story short ended up with 2 greenheads and drake hoodie after 4 shots on 2 different ponds. Turned out to be a good morning even tho the deer weren't moving.
BilletHead Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Cool beans there John way to go there bud. After a week break I took out Mrs. BilletHead in the wet snow showers. We got three birds in the misreable stuff. I will update my BilletHead post later. Again way to go! mhowerton Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Nice hunt. Maybe this cold front next week will change things up.
bs1827 Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Great picture! Good for you for taking advantage of the opportunity. I pushed up a pond of about 30 greenheads in northern MO this past weekend. Too bad duck season is over for the northern zone. Hopefully, like mhowerton, this cold front will bring in some new birds to the southern zone.
