merc1997 Bo Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 while doing the deep water video, i had mentioned explaining about keeping a belly in the line. chane put together a short clip of that. it is somewhat hard to see the line, but hope you will get the idea. fishing a spoon unimpeded but still maintaining contact is critical, and i see many attempting fishing a spoon making the mistake of keeping tension on the line. the reverse can be said of having too much slack line on the water. here is the link to you tube : www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvwP7jlZyvs&feature=em-upload_owner-smbtn i am not sure how to make the link live, but someone else did the other video. hope they will help us out again. bo

jolicious Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Hey Mr. Bo: have you tried a paddle tail grub on a jig head instead of a spoon when vertically fishing? I haven't yet, but I'm thinking that may be something different t to show the fish while still giving a good vibration to attract attention?

Appreciate your knowledge and willingness to teach!
rps Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Just a thought to add to Bo's very knowledgable comments. I just ordered the bait in the link for vertical jigging. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Strike_King_Rage_Blade_Blaster/descpage-SKRBB.html
merc1997 Bo Posted January 10, 2015 Author Posted January 10, 2015 looks very interesting except for the very short shank treble hook. i would change it out for a longer shanked treble, but some may get along with it the way it is. if it hangs level, it might be effective like rapala ice jig. bo Kenpat 1

I have three ordered and will report.
merc1997 Bo Posted January 10, 2015 Author Posted January 10, 2015 that is what i was also thinking looking at it. silver buddies and sonars are great cold water lures. bo
