I've been eyeing this rod for awhile but before I take the plunge I was wondering if anyone here had experience with it. It's and 6'3 Mag-Light rod (i'm some what familiar with this rating...what i understand it a tip similar to a ultra light but a stronger butt section then normal?) I normally at a minimum fish a medium light rod and no lower then #6 line. If i bought the rod i'd have it paired with a stradic fj 1000 and would ideally use #6 line and it would be used for light jigs around 1/8oz and small grubs possibly small tube baits.

Stradic is a great reel. Look at the comparable Lew's.

G Loomis rods earned their reputation, but now days their "brain" is working for Temple Fork and several others are matching the performance. Read up on Tackle Tour.

ok ill check out some of temple forks offerings as well. It might seem odd but i prefer the fj over the Ci4 its something about the feel i guess.

Gary Loomis collaborated with TFO on the Signature Series and did the design work on those (Lefty Kreh on the Signature fly rods) but has his own company (North Fork Composites) if you’re interested in Gary Loomis designed rods. He sold G.Loomis to Shimano back in the 90s who later tried to sue him for using his knowledge to start his own company again.

I bought my grandsons 6'6" Temple Fork rods light fast action. Put Lew's speed spins (size 10) on them. Nice combination. Got the chance to catch a few trout on one. It's a great rod especially for the money. Really like TFO lifetime no fault warranty too.
