Dan the fisherman Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Went out today at 1:30. I launched out HSB and started to head up River. I looked for the usual, birds, bait on the graph but didn't see much. I stopped several times to graph. I scanned spots from hwy 12 to hickory creek.. While I was searching I ran into a nice flock of birds, so I stopped and fished near them. Still nothing, no bait or fish marked. Tuff day out there.
J-Doc Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 That's what I was affraid of. This cold spell that dropped water temps down and inflow of rainfall has them in full winter mode now. That's not to say they can't be caught, it's just more difficult. There are windows of opportunity around the corner though. I will be out Sunday to see what's going on and how the warming trend will affect the bite. Guessing it will still be cold and slow bite even though the above surface temps will be warming. I also saw that War Eagle area is muddy. So the mud line is probably just above Hickory Creek right now. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
Dan the fisherman Posted January 14, 2015 Author Posted January 14, 2015 Ur right about the mud. It's gets a lot better down by the power lines near the water intake. Pretty muddy from there on up.
