The Ostrich egg is a very simply yet very efficive fly..

Hook:tmc 2488 (scud hook) 18-24's

Thread: 8/0 gray

Ostrich: white (2 pieces of herl)

Catergory: eggs

Difficulty: 1

specices: trout

Place the hook in vise and start the thread..

next tye in the herl

I like to twist the herl together and stroke the barbs out. Start to wrap the herl toward the eye of the hook, keep the wraps close together. Once at the eye of the hook, look over the fly.. If you feel you need to go back and add a few wraps to fill it out more do so

Next whip finish the thread.. and add a drop of head cement
