Guest Jim Traylor
On wednesday I fished with tow gentleman from Memphis. They wanted to catch a bunch of fish and keep none. We starrted with unreal eggs below the junk yard. got bites in a hurry with one fisherman who had some experience. Switched to olive buggers #10's and hit the mail box at bruce creek shoals. (we call it the mail box 'cause it always delivers) By and far the best spot of the day. Many doubles and we fished here for an hour and a half and half our fish came from this one spot. When the water came in we hit no name shoals and picked up some more fish. Then on to the narrows which is so full of stockers it's incredeble. We picked up more fish here. As the water came in we ran up to the hole below Cane Island. The water was dropping and the fish were feeding on the surface. We picked up a few fish on an elk hair caddis #16... and a couple on a zebra midge. Yesterday thursday I fished for a couple of hours on my own. Mostly to scout for fish as I have four days of FF'ing coming up. Did catch an 18' brown trout on an unreal egg but they were a little spooky today. Spawning is begening to take place in various shoals now and should be hot and heave on the upper end above wildcat in the next two weeks. Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted November 14, 2005 Root Admin Share Posted November 14, 2005 You know if you sweet talk your brother in law, he may be able to help you. Or else- make a trip to Taney and I'll help you with it. With leaving for north MO tomorrow for 3 days of deer hunting, I don't think I'll be able to slip down your way for a while.
