I have fished this off and on since cold weather began with no luck whatsoever. Do all the fish migrate downstream to Lake Sequoyah in winter? Visibility is about six feet now. The bottoms are rocky and littered with large boulders. There is not a fish to be seen, not even a minnow. Fish were abundant during warm months. Looks like smallmouth, crappie and warmouth would be present and at least nibble. Any insight?

I know smallmouth fishing in the rivers and creeks is tough once it gets cold. Even those boulders in moving water that always hold a fish in the summer don't in the winter... Frustrating! I've heard that stream fish head to the deepest pool they can get to in the winter and lay low. For part of the White that may be lake Sequoyah. However, I have also heard that they will wake up and get active on a warm sunny day even mid-winter so don't put away the ultralight!

Sequoyah is over 30 feet deep in the old channel. That is much deeper than the feeder streams.
