Sac River Jim Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Not a great report but we did manage a few nice crappie. Water temp 39.3 to 39.9 degrees. a little breezy and chilly. we started on brush piles around point 9 then moved out in the middle of the cove and picked up a couple very nice specks in 30fow dragging dual rigged jigs on the bottom with electric chicken being the best color. we moved down to chicken rock and caught two more under a nice size shad ball we finally located near the big rock. moved on down to ruark bluff and fished it keying on a couple of brush piles in the pockets. didnt catch any there so we ran back up about a 1/2 miles above point 9 and ran across a big school of whites suspended off a hump we didbt fish them but moved up a few yards and fished a couple more piles in 21fow. nothing on the piles but did catch two more singles in 30fow. 4 of us in 2 boats managed six crappie from 2:00pm till just before dark. didnt catch a single crappie on piles but 4 of the 6 were singles right off the bottom in 30fow. the only consellation was they were quality fish in the 12'' to 14'' range. Sorry its not a better report but plan on going on wednesday so maybe i'll have better news. id like to see the water get above 40 degrees and maybe it will pick up a little. stinger160 1
