Members dmorgan66 Posted March 4, 2015 Author Members Posted March 4, 2015 After inserting the dowel into the weed guard hole and the heat shrink tubing over the eye I hold the jig with hemostats by the hook. I have my heat gun sitting up on table so turn it on and hold the jig head over the heat. I roll it around to heat the entire lead head but not get to so hot that it felts off. I don't suggest you try this over carpet that your wife cares about. Then I dip it in the powder paint quickly and tap it on the side of the paint container to knock of any lose powder. They turn out evenly coated and very smooth. It takes a few tries to really get onto it. After it cools some I then pinch off the tubing and twist out the dowel. I mostly put the skirt on first and then dab a bit of super glue on end of weed guard in insert firmly. A lot of time I don't even cure the paint before finishing the jig. I find that if I am not knocking the rocks all the time the paint doesn't chip much.
