Best time to fish it is after a big rain and water be up past the lower ramp. Did snag a 40 lb spoonbill two years ago but won't go back. It is a circus down there opening day. Think Bennett springs opening day but with huge trebles and big lead weights flying around.

But I got a snagging rod I would like to try out thou. I myself use a medium heavy bass casting rod and have a blast when i go. Now i leave that for my wife to do since she would rather catch them than any other fish LOL
