dtrs5kprs Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 That is basically the original "Florida Rig" from the mid 80's. Before Gambler bought the screw in weight design the weights were not line through. You screwed one in the head of a worm, and rigged TX style, but backwards, as shown. It was an early attempt at punching, as it would penetrate grass better with the hook bend going in the cover first. I bought some at a little gas station/tackle store while waiting for an evening guide trip on Okeechobee in 1987. Believe I still have some in the pack. Obviously the Neko is a Japanese version. Not sure why it would have to be an open hook though. I poured some screw weights for doing it TX rigged as shown. At the time, I thought "wow, it would be cool if the line went through the weight". Doh!
Smallieguy87 Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 I know a few guys around my area that use a similar rig in some tournaments with 4 and 5 inch senko baits. They also worked docks with them and done really well.
