Any advice on what they are biting on and where they are is really appreciated. I haven't been down since early January.

Members basscatfan Posted March 5, 2015 Members Posted March 5, 2015 I crappie fished yesterday in the north Shore area. Lots of ice in the coves. The first 4 spots I fished we didn't get a bite but hit the mother load on the fifth spot and we caught are limit. It was a secondary point with pea gravel mixed with chunk rock. Caught bout half on jerk bait and half on Bobby garland baby shad. Water temp was 38. Seth 1

brittsnbirds Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Well it sucked up here on the 33MM today. Spent many hours on a neighbors dock that a buddy says will guarantee fish.......not. 1 keeper several shorts.

I shot some docks in coves around the 55mm last Saturday and most of the fish I caught were shorts in the shallower water. In a few hours, I caught about 30 fish and only 12 of them were keepers. Most were barely keepers, not the solid 10-11" fish I caught the week before in Indian Creek on the Gravois arm. The few nicer fish I did catch came off the end of the docks that sat over 15-20' of water so the nicer fish are still hanging out deeper. brittsnbirds 1
brittsnbirds Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Seth, I agree with the deeper water. The slips we were fishing were anywhere from 8' to 15' where we caught fish. Today after the sun came out and warmed things made a difference. We caught more keepers today. Seth and stuartsx5 2
brittsnbirds Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 Well we fished all afternoon yesterday. Sun was out but the wind was rather nippy. Sun made the bite a little better, caught a few more larger fish in 7'-10' water, very spotty. I was incorrect to assume they were all males as they were skinny. When we got to the cleaning table I was wrong. 80% were females with eggs, starting to get bloody but not busting at the seams. If they had some good sun and 60 plus temps it would kick them into gear.
