Members Ralda Posted March 11, 2015 Members Posted March 11, 2015 I'm planning on heading to Bennett tomorrow. The weather report looks great. It will be my first trip there. I have been fishing powerbait at taneycomo the past 2 weeks. I plan on fishing it in zone 3 and then trying my hand at fly fishing in zone 1 if it's not too crowded. Any thought or advice for my plan?
Fishingmill Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 One of my favorite spots in zone 1 is right about the first waterfall below the spring. But that seems to be everyone's favorite spot too. instagram.com/fishingmill twitter.com/Fishingmill vimeo.com/fishingmill

brittsnbirds Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 The best spot spin fishing is out on top of the dam. Or right off the concrete just above the dam in the gut piles!! Lots of fish there!! Use a white thread mini-jig under and indicator or a John Deere. If all else fails, find some rabbit strip lures time them on and throw out and let it set on the bottom. They will SWARM it and hang on.
Members Wornica Posted March 11, 2015 Members Posted March 11, 2015 You can also fly fish in zone 2, some like where the hatchery outlet meets the stream.
rcguy Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 You can also fly fish in zone 2, some like where the hatchery outlet meets the stream. If you could find a spot! Always crowded. Whatever you do take some weighted bobbers so you can pitch it to the other side in zone 2. That's if your spin fishing. Drift an egg pattern fly or some small jigs and you should catch some.

NoLuck Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 use two pound test line for, at least, a leader. I almost never use anything smaller than 6X Tippet. Which is 3.3 lb test.
