Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 19, 2006 Author Root Admin Posted January 19, 2006 I'm watching the troutcam monitor- I dropped a black zebra down with a bell wieght below it to hold it down- just dropping a zebra didn't work cause the trout kept taking it out of the camera's view. It's getting eatened 6-10 times per minute- one trout took it 4 times in a row before leaving it. Most are taking the midg hard- all the way in the mouth. funny thing they are hitting the bell weight too and when they do it moves the fly and that triggers alot of attention to the fly. I also have a jig jead with some colored yarn. they are taking it but not all the way in the wouth. The chubs like the jig better. What's interesting is how they are taking the jig- some aren't even taking it all the way in their mouths but beating it with their lips. No wonder we hook trout outside the mouth so often. Sorry if there is alot of errors in my typing- I can't keep my eye off the screen. I need to record this
Kansas Fly Fisher Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 I need to record this Sorry I missed the cam today. Had to work! Did you get it recorded? If so, where can I see it? Born to Fish, Forced to Work KSMEDIC.COM
Brian K. Shaffer Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Fascinating! Getting a " fish " eye's view like this. WoW! neat stuff gonna go back and stare at the cam for a while - Brian Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now.

Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 22, 2006 Author Root Admin Posted January 22, 2006 We just lowered the rate on the streaming so more people should be able to view it. That may have been your problem. We're going to watch it and see. It's still trial and error. You still may try going into Windows media direct - file/open url and type in http://66.76.215.83:1200 and see if that works.

Phil, Have you named any of those fish yet? Steve
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 22, 2006 Author Root Admin Posted January 22, 2006 I ran out of "fatty" names after 30. Curtis keeps them fed real well. They're starting to eat floating food- cool topwater action. The rain and boat traffic has clouded the water today. They may run water tonight and clear it up.
Members bowfish Posted January 23, 2006 Members Posted January 23, 2006 That is awesome. How deep is the camera set? thanks Phil, i could watch that all day. Jim
