loo10
Looked at TroutCam at 5:55PM Monday nite. Came up 1st try. Lots-n-lots of minnows. Few trout wearing really big smiles. Looks like the trout are happy with all the stupid chubs swimming amongst them. Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 28, 2006 Author Root Admin Share Posted March 28, 2006 Creek Chubs. Lots of them.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 28, 2006 Author Root Admin Share Posted March 28, 2006 I just changed the position of the camera under the dock. It's not pointing upstream, under the dock, instead of downstream and pointing out from underneath the dock. The light is different- the trout close to the camera are brighter- and there is 3-4 rainbows that are huge that stay under the dock. You'll see 2 of them- about 4-5 pounds and one well over 10 pounds. They are very shy. But I got them if them come back!
Members rls1936
I take it that the chubs are too big to be dinner for the trout. Too bad there isn't a five pound bass in the vicinity, that'd take care of them. Do the trout eat the chubs at all? I keep seeing one rainbow that looks like its back is broken just in front of its tail and another with a split tail. What do these trout eat? I haven't seen them feed at all. Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 28, 2006 Author Root Admin Share Posted March 28, 2006 These trout eat trout guts mainly. That's why there are so many here. We have seen big browns under there and I would think they would catch one or two chubs but why bother when you get a chunk of meat handed to you without any work? There's a couple of shaddows holding back- they look very big.
Members rls1936
Does anyone fish under there using trout guts as bait? Probably not very sporting though.

Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted April 2, 2006 Author Root Admin Share Posted April 2, 2006 Our water temp is climbing here and wouldn't doubt if we see some bass spawn on our bank this spring. Never thought about seeing them on the cam though. May have to change the name of the cam!!
