Members sixstring531 Posted March 16, 2015 Members Posted March 16, 2015 While waiting for the mailman to bring a new Lowrance, I thought I should research the different mapping options available. Does anyone, or has anyone, used the Navionics maps on Stockton? If so, what do/did you like or not like? If you haven't, which mapping product do you use? Thanks! Rich
eyeman Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 i just ordered a navionics platinum card. they show lakes in 1 foot intervals which is awesome. go to navionics website and you can pull up lake maps of lakes you fish and you can look at them on your computer.go in to your lowrance unit and select the navionics option from the menu and also activate the (fish and chips)option on the chart screen
Sac River Jim Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 ive got navionics on my bird 998c and have it linked to my 1158 in the front. im just learning how to use it and sure im not using it to it full capabilities. i'm not able to pull up the river channels on the maps but was told if i up grade it from their website i should be able too.
Bird Watcher Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 I've kind of been dissapointed in my Navionics platinum card on Stockton. I've found quite a few places with missing/incorrect contours. It's mostly correct, I don't know if I'm expecting too much that it's always correct.
Members Brandon Knight Posted March 16, 2015 Members Posted March 16, 2015 Have you looked at Lakemaster? I can't say i have any complaints about mine, well worth the money!
Unimog Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 X2 on lakemaster. I have 2 navionics platinum cards and recently got a lakemaster and like it better. I'm Thinking on the navionics platinum you're paying extra for the satellite view of the land surrounding the lake which I find useless. Roger_D 1
Members sixstring531 Posted March 16, 2015 Author Members Posted March 16, 2015 I don't think Lakemaster (at least new LM) works with Lowrance. When I look at the WebApp for Navionics Premium (or + w/ premium) to view Stockton, it looks like there is quite a bit of information - but I guess it doesn't mean too much if it is incorrect. I also think I can use the InSight Genesis mapping (recorded as fishing) and integrate it with Navionics. Any other suggestions to look at?
inshore Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 It works fine at Stockton. The key as in all mo. lakes is get the brush pile coordinates from MDC. Sac River Jim 1
Members Brandon Knight Posted March 17, 2015 Members Posted March 17, 2015 im pretty sure you can use lakemaster on Lowrance but not 100%. I know Humminbirds can use both cards so i just figure Lowrance would too.
WettinLine Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 I have a Navionics Platinum card I'd like to sell, just got a new trolling motor and need Lakemaster to utilize it.
