MeatintheFreezer Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 The wife and I put in at daylight and fished until a little after 10. Caught a nice mess of crappie and a few whites. Nothing came off the bank, everything we caught was still suspended out in the channel about 10 down. Members Goggleeye Bailie Posted March 22, 2015 Members Posted March 22, 2015 The crappie are definitely biting on turnback. I've caught several the last couple of days.
Members Shad Ball Buster Posted March 22, 2015 Members Posted March 22, 2015 Going tomorrow morning, I'm so excited I probably won't even sleep tonight! Any pointers for me? Hopefully I will be able to share a pic like that tomorrow. Sac River Jim 1
MeatintheFreezer Posted March 22, 2015 Author Posted March 22, 2015 Yes they are from this year, they were caught this morning. Why do you ask that? My advice if you are going in the morning is to be there at sunup. They have been shutting off for me around 9:30 or 10. I have had my best luck trolling road runners along channel breaks by the mouths of spawning coves. You will see them stacked on the graph, but dont get sucked into trying to stop and fish the school, I havent had any luck doing that. I just keep moving and catch the active ones. Aggressor1988long Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Just asking had a rough day today so any tips would be appreciated . Couldn't find a bite or buy one. Towards highpoint.
MeatintheFreezer Posted March 23, 2015 Author Posted March 23, 2015 Dont feel bad. I had a buddy I knew was fishing up there, so I texted him when I started catching them. He stopped by and fished the exact water I was fishing, with virtually the same bait, he only brought home 3 keepers. I'll take luck over skill any day.
