blacknoseddace Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Fished yesterday by the dam with my wife. Tried pretty hard to get a bass bite going but only caught one keeper on a jig n' craw. Pretty tough. What really made most of the day was watching all the geese and ducks everywhere. Saw lots of Goldeneyes and snow geese. We watched a loon hearding a ball of shad on top. I'll bet his belly was full of 6" shad. I've been fishing Stockton for 30 years and still love watching all the bird activity there. It never gets old. Towards the end of the day we found lots of shad in the back of a cove with whites mixed in with them. We were actually sight casting to the dark looking schools of fish in clear shallow water. The action was fast and furious until we were so wore out (middle aged) we left for the house. How many times do you get to leave when the fish are still biting? Usually it's the other way around, lol! I hope you all have good fishing. Sac River Jim and Stacy Jordan 2
Sac River Jim Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 good to hear you had that pattern down on the lower end of the lake. I've been on the same pattern up the creeks on the upper end. it confirms to me my theory its not the area you fish but its the pattern you fish.
