Members Skip Smith Posted January 23, 2007 Members Posted January 23, 2007 Hello to OAF. I'm glad to finally be on board and am looking forward to many good conversations. I love to fish all over the world, but, I must admit Lake Taneycomo is like an old friend I must visit several times a year. I can't beleive that it's been a thirty year friendship I have shared with my three brothers. It was over 50 years ago that my Dad introduced my brothers and me to fishing on Table Rock and Bull Shoals. Home is currently still in St. Louis area. (not a bad location to use as a hub for fishing throughout the United States) I look forward to sharing stories and experiences with you all. This forum has me really excited about a new dimension of enjoying the sport of fishing. Greetings to All, Skip Smith (perchjerker1)

Members Skip Smith Posted January 23, 2007 Author Members Posted January 23, 2007 Hey dogrunner, In 50 years of fishing I have hit every state in the US except Ohio, North Dakota, and Oregon. Outside of the continental United States I have been fortunate enough to fish the Bahamas, Costa Rica, Yucatan, Canada, Phillipine Islands, Dominian Republic, Australia. Over the next two years I have my sights set on fishing New Zealand. My lifetime Goal is to someday include Cuba. I'm planning on retirement within the next five years which should open opportunities for me and the Mrs. to hit some European countries. Living the Dream because life is way to short, Skip
Members thegundog.com Posted January 23, 2007 Members Posted January 23, 2007 Cuba huh?... well I didn't know they had trout fishing there but I quess you could flyfish for something instead. New Zealand... now that sounds like the goal to have. What kind of work are you involved in, if I might ask, that sends you to so many places, or are they vacation sites? And as you said, (and all it takes is a medical condition of one kind or another ,to make you realize just how short life on this earth is)" live the dream.
