I have a question about the Ned.

From reading week after week after week on the superior greatness of the Ned and how many fish it catches including large fish, are any pro anglers using this on the circuit?

Has any Pro won a tournament with it?

Has the Ned put any pro tournament angler in the money?

One of my customers fished it in almost every FLW event he fished last season. A friend of his had a top 10 finish in a Rayovac at Lacrosse, WI last fall, using the weedless heads he gave him.

Lots of folks have been using it and not talking about it. One who has talked about it is local legend Stacey King. Here's a link:

If you don't like Lanier, here is one where Stacey fished it at Beaver:

Tommy Martin used it in one of Bassmaster's "Day On The Lake" features a couple of years back.

We also have guides getting paid every day throwing it. So yes, folks who fish for a living, in any respect, are cashing checks with it. The big win is going to happen, just a matter of time as more folks use it.

Kind of surprised a dedicated river guy cares about tournament wins. I sure don't. Just in it to catch them.

So now finesse fishing is Ned rig?

I noticed in all three of those advertisements for Ned that you posted the term Ned rig was never used.

Is he now encompassing all of fitness fishing under his umbrella?

Ned Rig is definitely finesse fishing. Just like drop shot is finesse fishing, shakey head, split shotting, mojo rig, etc. and the Ned Rig. all forms of finesse fishing.

I think if you're fishing remotely similar ( any type of small jig head and small soft plastic body being drug, shook, or swam on or near the bottom) it's being classified as a variation of the Ned. I don't really think that's wrong mind you. I fish lunkercity ribster worms in 3' and 4.5' on small 1/8oz heads all in a similar fashion as many people fish the Ned rig that is so popular on here so is that considered a variation of the Ned in some circles? No doubt the Ned the way it's shown here is a fish catching machine and i do believe that it can catch some large fish as well but is it limited to that particular bait and exact set up?

For the umpteenth time that is because Ned does not like the name. He refers to it as Midwest Finesse. Look at the pics and read the description of the bait.

I was shocked to see Ned's name on zman packaging this year, but noted it is not labeled with a trademark. You will never see him call it the "Ned Rig" in an article, although others will.

Again, feel free to post something that helps folks get bit.

Nope. It is just an easy way to refer to that arrangement, and has come to be attached to the little head with the cut stick. Kind of like calling a grub a "smoke grub" at Table Rock. Most folks will know you are talking about a 4"-5" single tail in some variation of smoke.

If you look at Ned's blog you will see all sorts of baits being used that way. He fishes the shadz a lot, but I can't stand it unless I am fishing a lake with grass. A variety of little craws can be very good.

Post how to catch river bass, they will not.

I'm pretty sure they couldn't use his name without his permission and sending a check every so often.

But at any rate, I asked about the Ned specifically. Not Finesse or Mid-West Finesse.

If someone askes, I'll be sure to offer some insight on what to throw. But I guess since I'm not hocking anything, I'm not adamantly pushing only one option to use.

Sorry, thought you didn't want to hear more about it by that name. Here you go:

And no, I don't have any association with Zman, aside from buying a ton of their products because they work. And for more than the Ned. Some great flipping baits, good options for the swing heads (I don't sell those either), shakey heads (don't sell those either), truly excellent swim baits for ball heads or a-rigs (well, you can guess). About the only thing they don't make is a decent tube, and the Flippin crawz is poorly designed in the claw attachments.

Somewhere a bridge is lonely today...
