jbooth24 Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 I am planning a float on beaver creek this summer. This will be my first time floating it. Was going to use beaver creek canoe rental and do there 11 mile float. Does any know of how the fishing is for this part of the river for smallmouth googel eye and largemouth. Any info is appriciated
Bubbas Dad Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 That upper part of Beaver can be really dry in the summertime. I would look at renting a canoe from the bait store in Kissee Mills. Float lower end of Beaver creek.
Flysmallie Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 It is a little rough up above Brownbranch in the summer but it's also awesome. Yeah you might drag and have to carry your boat around some obstacles but there is usually nobody else up there and plenty of fish. Most people are going to take the easy route and wonder why the fishing isn't great. I'd rather take the hard route and enjoy the eager fish. 11 miles is going to be a little long if the water is low though. Either start really early or choose a shorter float. They have one that's 7 or 8 miles I think. I've done it in Jun and it wasn't too bad. We did have to portage once quite a ways when we ran into the worlds largest log jam. Fishing was awesome though and we never saw another person until we got back to Brownbranch. Ā Ā
jbooth24 Posted April 2, 2015 Author Posted April 2, 2015 I'm going to float it in the end of May. And does the bait store in kissie mills also drop you off an pick you up? Was goin to wade fish by the bridge there in kissie mills this summer
jbooth24 Posted April 2, 2015 Author Posted April 2, 2015 Thank you for the info. I'm trying to get out and explore different rivers this summer
Bubbas Dad Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 They will arrange to drop and pick you up. Not sure of their rates or anything else though. There might not be a place to wade if it keeps coming up, it is almost flooding now.
creek wader Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Jbooth24, you never posted again as to whether you made the trip or the results of the trip. I'm interested in any input on the Beaver. I'm trying to do a few off the beaten path floats this year. Any info would be appreciatedĀ wader
