Fishslayer88 Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 I like the shiners alive but the other two dont matter. If they are too long ill cut them in half.
jbooth24 Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Had any one ever caught any walleye or gar in the James befor down around Kerr and on down to blunks I want to try for walleye this year also
Fishslayer88 Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Walleye are just an occasional catch but gar are pretty thick.
Members dustin.hutchison91 Posted April 9, 2015 Author Members Posted April 9, 2015 best hole i found for gar is above delaware personaly i caught probably 40 one day up there on cut sucker
vonreed Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 I heard some guys talking last night about catching some walleye in the morning that day. I think I heard them say 3 walleye. I have personally caught walleye from Blunks all the way up to the mouth of Finley. But not ever enough to target them. Gar are everywhere.
jbooth24 Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 I have never caught a walleye befor it's on the list this year. Have seems. Few dead gar while floating. And did have one mess arpund by my canoe

Members Shad Ball Buster Posted April 22, 2015 Members Posted April 22, 2015 My buddy caught one at the shoals with a swimming minnow, I thought he was crazy till he brought it over to me. Sure enough it was probably about a pound and a half or so.
Members dustin.hutchison91 Posted April 22, 2015 Author Members Posted April 22, 2015 up river side or down river side?
RSBreth Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 I've caught walleyes around McCall bridge often. Otherwise they are spread out far enough to be hard to target.
