Members The Bassman Posted April 12, 2015 Members Posted April 12, 2015 Fished from about 1pm until 6. Me and partner caught about 50 bass. All fish were caught on wacky rigged senkos. Threw a square bill and some top water but no takers. Water temp was about 64. Not one quality fish today but we had a blast. Let's get some more posts on BV waters. I will try to provide updates when I go.
Quillback Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 I have not fished Norwod in a couple of years. What size were you getting, 10-12 inches?
Members The Bassman Posted April 13, 2015 Author Members Posted April 13, 2015 Yes. Most were in that range. I did come unbuttoned on a better one but never saw it. Saw a few beds but none had fish on them. Talked to a gentleman who was doing the same thing we were doing and said he was catching better quality fish last week. Story of my fishing life "You shoulda been here last week".
Quillback Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 There's a lot of those 10-12" fish in Avalon and Norwood also. The lakes biologist encourages people to keep them, there's just too many of them and they impact the overall size quality in those lakes. I want to get over to Loch Lomond, I hear it has been decent. Haven't fished it since last summer.
Guest Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Norwood has been full of 10-12" bass for the 9 years Ive been fishing up there. Those little bass are getting elderly by now. I noticed there is little to no bait in that lake, too many small bass. Would be fun on a Ned rig though
Quillback Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 A couple of years ago, during the summer, Norwood had a bunch of brook silverside minnows, fish would surface feed on them in the AM. You could catch a bunch, but they were always small.
Members The Bassman Posted April 13, 2015 Author Members Posted April 13, 2015 The only bait I have seen there is around those solar bees. I see bass busting them in the warmer months. They can be caught by staying off a bit and letting the senko drift down for maybe a 10 count. Catch 1-2 one one and move to the next one.

Quillback Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Saw his on BBC today, looks to be about 10 lbs. http://www.bbcboards.net/bbc-lounge/598222-oldest-son-caught-ole-string-stretcher.html
