Smallieguy87 Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 I had a bit of free time today so i decided to go fish Mineral fork for a bit. I got to the access around 2:15 PM, air temps were around 65 degrees and there was a light breeze with the occasional gust that was blowing in a bit of rain. Once i got down to the stream the water looked clear as usual and was looking and running good. I waded several hundred yards up from the access fishing some of the known pools which had changed a bit since the last time id seen them. The last time the water was up it actually extended the length of the first big pool a good 50 feet. I worked them with a pearl blue rage grub on 1/8 ball jig and landed my first fish in just a few short minuets....A chunky little smallmouth around 10 inches in length. I worked the pool for another 15-20mins but could coax another. So i switched to a green pumpkin rage grub and landed another smallmouth around the 10inch mark. I decided to wade up another 75 yards and switched over to a wiggle wart and started to fish it near some larger rocks and stumps and managed to pretty decent largermouth. after that things seemed to have died down and after about an hour and half it was time to go home to the family for dinner! Here is the big fish of the trip. bs1827 1

Smallieguy87 Posted April 22, 2015 Author Posted April 22, 2015 I really want to get down to the Mineral Fork sometime. Let me know if or when you do I'll throw a line with ya. I normally fish out of Kingston access since i seem to have better luck there then the F HWY access. I'm looking to reach out to a few land owners and see if i can get permission from them. I wouldn't mind to take kayak and put in at the beach in Washington State park since I've never fished that section.
