ten_scoach Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Went out chasing crappie. Did great Saturday, but today was tough. Hit all the banks we caught fish on last weekend with no luck. Water started out 57 around cedar ridge. Found 63 up in birch branch. Did catch a couple off brush in 20 fow and a couple more off a pile we stumbled upon in 35 fow. Amazing how much a strong front can knock crappie on the noggin.
Sac River Jim Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 were they spawned out or was they those big males thats still staging. 35fow sounds like they are spawned fish moving out into a post spawn pattern/ thnx for the report.
slab slinger Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Just woundering how far along in the spawn the fish are in that area of the lake. Thanks
ten_scoach Posted April 23, 2015 Author Posted April 23, 2015 They were not spawned out. Still small eggs. Still think the best is yet to come. I think that front just pushed them out for a bit. Talked with several other fisherman all with same luck on crappie this morning....,little to none. Bet the afternoon was better. Aggressor1988long and Sac River Jim 2
Members capndan Posted April 23, 2015 Members Posted April 23, 2015 Hey Brownshoe, Bro Dave sir bargealot and I going to Truman Friday night thru Thursday morn for crappie and turkey hunt gonna night fish too you want in?
ten_scoach Posted April 23, 2015 Author Posted April 23, 2015 Capndan. Thanks for the invite. Kids require my attention a little more than the fins n feathers this weekend. Maybe next time.
Aggressor1988long Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 all fish I have caught the eggs are not bloody yet females will not move all the way up till the full moon. Those cold snaps with wind will shut them down for a few days then they will start up again. Last year was warmer we are running about 2 weeks behind this year water temp was 64.1 yesterday in the river arm around highpoint. slab slinger and Sac River Jim 2
