Members Mike Fisher Posted April 23, 2015 Members Posted April 23, 2015 Headed to Greaser creek tomorrow for a much needed day of crappie fishing. Any tips on bait or depths? I am reading fish are moving back out. Thanks!
Members JUST FISHING Posted April 23, 2015 Members Posted April 23, 2015 I do believe they are, last weekend we had several hit us at boat in 10 fow as we brought the jigs up. We were using white blue white jigs and they stopped hit them all together wife and daughter started throwing red black yellow and started catch them again. That was in Britch branch haven't fished in Greaser any this year. We have a Bass tourny this Saturday so we probably won't get to fish any til Sunday. Good Luck I would say fish slow, our bites were just weight, very few were hitting hard, I started watching my line that had a bow in it and when I seen it start to straight I would set the hook and have one ever time..
Sac River Jim Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Fished griesser today LOUSY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! one 11'' crappie one white bass. the crappie are up above three hills but where there were crappie there were tons of boats. i marked alot of fish in 20 to 30fow on piles. blue/white tail grub or blue ice shadR worked best for the few dinks we were able to catch. Got cut off twice trying to get in a pocket to fish. nothing in powerline cove either. fished below mutton and just green fish. i'm sure we would have caught crappie if we could have got in the pockets across from three hills but there was atleast 20 boats stacked in a half mile stretch.
Sac River Jim Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 if i would have thought i'd trolled a flicker shad in the coves and held boat in 25 to 30fow. i think that is your best bet. also will keep you out of the way of the spawn chasers fishing the buck brush.water temp 58 to 59.8 degrees water clarity nice green color and very clear can see jig 5' down.
