Members Gravel Bar Bum Posted April 24, 2015 Members Posted April 24, 2015 First time posting to Ozark Anglers, but I have read many posts over the years. It is an excellent site. I occasionally fish Table Rock and Bull Shoals, but this is my first trip to Stockton. I will be arriving next Friday. Although I suspect Stockton is similar to TR And Bull in many ways, every lake has its own character. I will primarily be targeting bass. Any advice on approaches will be greatly appreciated.
Members waterdogMP Posted April 24, 2015 Members Posted April 24, 2015 Anything green pumpkin in softbaits. I fish football jigs on chunk rock a lot. Fire tiger wiggle wart always kills them for me. White spinner baits on windy points and gravel/transition points. If you are going to fish bass at night then black/blue flake is good. Black spinner bait with black Colorado blade works well for me. I usually fish the dirtier parts of the lake (Aldrich, greenfield) areas where the water is a little more dingy. Where you find clearer water it's going to fish a lot like table rock.
Hammer time Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 C-rig your favorite soft plastics and 5/16 brown jig in creek arms and secondary points
Sac River Jim Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 stockton is a little different than the rock or bull shoals which are much deeper lakes. usually stockton is a little behind the rock by about two weeks but not this year for some reason i watch patterns on the table rock forum then apply them to stockton a few days later but this year patterns have been very similar at the same time. Just watch the posts on both forums the next few days and you will develope a pattern. Welcome to the forums and pm me a couple days before you come and i will try to give you a heads up. i fish atleast 3 to 4 days a week so i try to keep up to date on patterns the best i can. slab slinger Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 This time of yr its hard to beat a lizard and a jig for me. Not a crankbait fisher for bass so can't help ya there. Im with hammer about the spinnerbaits on windy banks. If you want to get some good target's to flip or pitch run up turkey, maze, turnback, birch, or price. Fav color solft plastic Green Pumpkin and Watermelon candy. Worms red shad and tequila sunrise. Jig color about any. Good luck. Will be watching for your post. Aggressor1988long 1
