Members BrandonT Posted April 27, 2015 Members Posted April 27, 2015 Went to Maramec this weekend.... Fished from the buzzer at 7 until about 7:30. Caught 5 quickly, though no surprise there as it was the morning rush. I left and came back with the family around 10am. We fished below the cable where the bridge crosses over the stream just below the hatchery. We did really well catching 5 or 6 in a period of an hour or so. This was the first time I've been to Maramec in 5 or 6 years, but I used to spend almost every summer weekend up there as a kid. I usually fish the wild trout creeks and streams. One thing I really noticed was the amount of quality sized rainbows being caught. Seemed like almost everyone who was catching fish had a couple 15"-16" on their stringer. Also saw a 5 1/2 pound rainbow get caught just below the cable in the current. I'm sure that one snuck in there from the hatchery, but just seemed like overall they were stocking larger fish. Seth 1
