Members breeves2245 Posted April 29, 2015 Members Posted April 29, 2015 I'm going out with James Whittle tomorrow for a fishing lesson. I was hoping to come back Saturday to put it to use, but maybe not based on the tournament news. Maybe I'll just stay around the house and fish a BV lake.
Guest Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 There's a full moon friday night, might as well fish after dark. Its going to be warm at night this weekend & light wind on friday, Could setup for a topwater bite Easier to fish under clear skies & light wind when its dark out vs windy & cloudy nights. Less fishing pressure & boating traffic too. When do the night tournaments start up?
Mike jones Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 I believe Teddy is starting the Tuesday night jackpots out of Hickory creek in about 3 weeks.
Members BassinHawg Posted April 29, 2015 Members Posted April 29, 2015 Hey folks, new here and just wanted to ask a few questions. I use to live in Fayetteville over 20 years ago and fished Beaver a whole lot back in the day. Use to fish the OBAA tournaments back in the late 80', don't know if that still even exists. Did OK back then and use to know that lake pretty good. I live in Texarkana now and fish Millwood and East Texas lakes mostly now (Wright Patman, Lake of the Pines, Bob Sandlin, Fork). I have only been on Beaver Lake once in the last 20 years and that was last October on a trip with my son who now lives in Fayetteville and works in Springdale after graduating from the University of Arkansas last year. I really want to fish a tournament for old times sake with my son on Beaver but didn't know if it would be stupid/silly to fish the Chamber one this weekend. Really just want to spend time on the water there with my son and show him some more spots that I use to catch fish at, if we would happen to do well in the tournament that would be a bonus. I know the lake will be busy but my main concern would be parking at Prairie Creek. Will it be a nightmare to use that ramp and parking lot Saturday? Any better options? Still kicking around the idea of coming up for this tournament but wanted some input although I think I may know the answer. Thanks, BH
Blll Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 PC just hosted the FLW with 150 boats and was not quite full. 200+ would be a "nightmare".JMO

Guest Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 It's going to be beyond crowded, it's the "largest ameteur" tournament fished at beaver every year.

Members BassinHawg Posted April 29, 2015 Members Posted April 29, 2015 I figured it was a bad idea but it's one of the only weekends that I have open to come up and fish in the next month or so, that's why I was considering it. I may blow it off and come up in the Summer and do some night fishing, I really liked doing that on Beaver too. Thanks.
Feathers and Fins Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 200+ boats for the tourney... Plus all the wake boats, pontoons and just average joe fishermen... People will be parking all the way to the gate again https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
