Justin92297 Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 The big river at byrnesville is around 3 gauges and falling. Is this low enough to wade in?
Al Agnew Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 It's lower than normal for this time of year, but 400 plus cfs is still quite a bit of water. Plus, there's not much of anywhere on the lower part of Big River that lends itself to wading. Way too much water of enough depth that you'd be chest deep much of the time, and it's usually murky enough that you can't easily see drop-offs.
Justin92297 Posted May 1, 2015 Author Posted May 1, 2015 Very true. I have found that out the hard way a few times. However I was wondering because I like to wade across a riffle below the mill dam at Rockford beach and fish from the bank opposite of the parking lot. This is very easy when the river is low but I'm not sure about it now
