Me and my buddy are floating Barclay to landmine this weekend. I'm a decent camper and kayakers but a first timer when it comes to trout fishing. My buddy is somewhat of a fisherman and I Would love to show up and out fish him. Any suggestions on what lures I should go with. I'm bringing a fly rod and a regular rod. Thanks

Bring roostertails (1/16th), rebel crawdads, and marabou jigs for the spin rod. Wolly buggers (weighted), other streamers, and bead head pheasant tails for the fly rod. I don't know how quickly the trout will thin out below Barclay, but all of these except the pheasant tail will catch smallmouth too.

I wish I had more time more than I wish I had more money.

Willies should work I always just use White Power Bait.

Trout slow down after Barclay start catching warmer water fish like Bass,Crappie and Goggle Eye

Suppose to be Wollies

Great water between NRO and Barclay. If you can extend your float, you'll have a better chance at both trout and the warm water species.

Using a spinning rod I would throw a black, black and yellow, white, white and red, ginger, and moss green 1/80th jigs.

Upstream schooled me one time with a 80th oz. black jig once. Cast across current jig it as it makes the swing. Try mini jigs under an indicator with a fly rod or spinning rod.

Thanks everyone for the advice. Other than the occasional torrential down poor, we had a blast. We caught fish left and right. I've never camped on the river before. Im going back in a week or two. Better prepared and hopefully less rainy.

Glad you had fun. Know about the rain I'm not going to complain we still need it but we have been trying to get time to work on our Cabin at Warsaw. :oh-noes:
