its been years since dad and i did that but i dont remember ever having more than just a few die. we kept them from sping through summer.

I just keep the ones left over in my large cooler and as long as theyre minnows and not shinners they will live quite a while. I change the water ever so often. But i dont keep hundreds at a time, just a few dozen at most. They are pretty tough and as long as the water doesnt get too hot they will be good. I do the same with leeches also..which by the way lakeys now sells mud and fresh water leeches by the dz and lb. Great for cats cause ive caught a few on the same leech before. I use them if im not using shinners. Good luck
