LittleRedFisherman Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Great report Kyle. I have not fished the little red much lately myself. It's a great little trout river, I used to fish it a lot hence my username..lol. 18 inch brown is also my largest in there. The rouse fly fishing boys caught some big browns in there! I"m with Kyle on the different feel of the river, up near JFK park, it's similar to white river with more rock and bluffs. Down near Lobo, it's a lot like a bottom land river, with trout in it, very unique.. There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
Members SDB777 Posted May 29, 2015 Members Posted May 29, 2015 The next take-out is like 20 miles downstream, and there's a wier wall down there that keeps folks from coming up. So it's a ton of untouched water. But it gets warm and I doubt trout are much farther down than Ramsey most of the year. But it should be good warm water fishing. Just haven't done it yet. I have fished that 'wall'. It is a great place to go and catch untold amounts of trout that stay right next to it, on the downstream side. Yes, the water is a bit warmer, but the trout are there. Took a bunch of video on the 23rd at Cow Shoals....wife was doing a LOT of catching! Nothing big, but they were still pulling on the line. I only caught maybe five, one was about 13-14 inches. Was a fun day. BTW, if you happen to live in the North Little Rock area and lost your fishing license...I mailed it to you Scott (raining or generator, one or the other) B No high priced fly gear here! If you're ever looking for a custom duck call.....give me a shout!
