Jason R. Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 I also wouldn't turn my nose up at some of the less expensive brands like TFO. I have a TFO BVK that I built and it is a heck of a rod. TFO's components (reel seat, guides, grip) are not as nice as Sage or Orvis- but if you build one or have it built- you can get a sweet rod with a great blank, great warranty and the best components for a lot less than a Sage or Orvis rod. Takes a lot more work and thought so it may be worth it to you to pick up a pre-built rod. I have rods by both Sage and Orvis- used to work in an Orvis store actually- and I prefer Sage- but that is probably because the company culture at Orvis kind of turns me off. Their rods are great. http://flyinthesouth.com/
