blacknoseddace Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Put in at 9 AM this morning and water temperature was 69°. Fished main lake points by the dam 14 to 20 feet of water using wacky style drop shot with finesse worm. caught five fish four were keepers and one keeper walleye on the wacky worm. Had one fish break off right when he hit it. Moved around the point and caught a few more then returned where I caught the other fish and hooked one right away. Got him in the boat and there was my hook and finesse worm in his mouth with the drop shot sinker dangling, that I had just broke off. I was pretty happy because those hooks and sinkers aren't cheap. First time in my life I've ever had that happen. After that the wind layed down they quit. I trolled Flicker shad for a while and caught a couple more short walleyes and one keeper crappie. Got chased off the water by a squall around 3 o'clock and left. Water was 73° when I left. Didn't catch a pile of fish but I've sure had worse days. Had a great time! zarraspook and slab slinger 2
Members Kdub Posted June 4, 2015 Members Posted June 4, 2015 That is frickn awesome! I've been wanting to try around the dam area but haven't yet.
Flysmallie Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 I think on every lake that I have ever fished I have always ran towards the creeks and rivers. Heck there are some lakes that I have fished dozens of time and have no idea what the dam even looks like. Except on Stockton. I love the dam area.
