Contemplating the 6 hour trip from here to there Saturday and Sunday. Not fishing, but family boating. Any reports/thoughts on areas to stay away from based on the new inflow and water rising? Wide open on where we can go, but don't want to dodge logs all day, swim in soupy water, or risk damage to boat. Any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks all !

If it were me I would stay at home. we have gotten 5+ inches of rain in the last 36 hours and over 7 inches in the last 4 days. all streams and creeks are rolling and a lot of them are out of their banks. with lots of floaters. just my 2 cents worth.

Good luck and Good fishing

I haven't been there in a couple of weeks, but I would avoid the Kings river and the mouth of the Kings for sure. White river channel above the Kings may have a floater or two, so if you plan to go up there I'd scope it out first before doing any full throttle boating.

Saw a post just recently where they say the Corps is expecting the lake to crest at 923 on Saturday. Some of the launches may be unuseable, parking lots may be flooded. James river is at a record level.

Great trip! Was there Saturday and Sunday. Boated from the Swings all the way to the Long Creek Marina. Tons of patchy floating small debris in places and a few BIG floaters, but very few. Very cautious, although most boats were not. Lake came up a couple feet while we were there.
