Guest flyfishBDS Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 LOL @ subliminal _ I'd already answered Tex on Beaver thread asking about generation on beaver and I'd suggested RR. Thius post I got to second and hadn't realised how new he was to the area, so handled directions to both. But Terry's right some very good fishing in this area. If you like bass fishing on the fly, you can slip up to Gentry and fish the SWEPCO lake, bank access if limited without a boat but bunches of winter florida strain bass. Good smallmouth streams in your area Illinois etc (not my area of expertise tho) and come spring you can hit the Upper White for white bass/hybrids. Then you can come north to the trout waters _ once your at Beaver or RR, its only about 1hr 10 to Taney too for some variety, or straight through on 412 2.5hr to Mountain Home. Cheers Tex

Members JodyMikal Posted February 5, 2007 Members Posted February 5, 2007 Hey! I was new last year... My first trip last Feb, We fished for 3 hours Sat morning and I didn't get a single hit... We went up the road to Tims and he gave us some advice and pointed out a few flies that were working good. 3 min after getting back to the river, I had my first trout on a fly rod.
Steve Smith Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 Go on until you see a orange intersection warning light, turn right, it will take you straight to Roaring River. Tex; that intersection in Seligman would be Hwy 112. There is a highway sign to Roaring River. 112 will take you to the south end of the park. The closest fly shop would be Tim's Fly shop, Hwy 112 at the north entrance to the park. He's open Friday - Sunday, 10 to 1 PM during the C&R season. ___________________________ AKA Flysmith - Cassville MO
