Blll Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Great to hear a fishing report! Fooled around near my slip yesterday but could only catch a few gills and 6" spots. no crappies. Last year could almost start the frying pan when I tried for crappies. This year is tuff!! Good luck, be careful, looks to be wet all day.
Members zummy Posted July 7, 2015 Author Members Posted July 7, 2015 I figure if nothing else the kids and I will go back to the dock and catch the bluegill. My 2.5 yr old caught his first fish down there last night. They don't care how big they are. jolicious and J-Doc 2
Members zummy Posted July 8, 2015 Author Members Posted July 8, 2015 Tonight it was rip rap. Found some rip rap folks had out and caught fish. Lake was higher than the morning which is to be expected. Couldn't find any schools to try. Hoping the rain stays away so I can hit it the next 2 mornings then head home. Good luck out there. Blll 1
Members zummy Posted July 9, 2015 Author Members Posted July 9, 2015 Struck out today. Went for something other than black bass. Only fished when the rain stopped right before dark. If it's smallies you seek...start in front of the 4 sign and work SE 100 yards casting towards the bank. After 100 yrds look south. There is rip rap someone put in with a fallen tree. Fish south until you hit the big sweet gum tree. Work it good. Head NE across the cove. Lots o brush to fish. Even though the weather sucked we appreciate the hospitality. Hope to be back next year. I want to hire a guide to tie into some stripers next go around. Lance34 1
J-Doc Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Hey that's Beaver. This year has been an exceptionally tough year at times but also a rewarding year. The lake fishes as a pattern lake and patterns have been all over the charts with some very strange fishing conditions. Glad you had fun and hope you can make it back next year! Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
