Members dspar00a Posted July 14, 2015 Members Posted July 14, 2015 Went out from 7pm-1am last night. Bite was decent right at dusk, then slowed a little once it got completely dark. Caught maybe 35-40 fish between two people on small profile baits. (Grub and Ned) shallow bite was the most effective. Docks played key in getting consistent bites. No big fish but a few in the 2lb range. All in all was a great night.
Members The Bassman Posted July 16, 2015 Members Posted July 16, 2015 Any top water activity at dusk? I've heard they are busting a bit in the mornings.
Members dspar00a Posted July 16, 2015 Author Members Posted July 16, 2015 I caught a few working a fluke real quick right under the surface but nothing on actual top water baits. Threw a buzz and a spook with no luck.
Quillback Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Fished it this morning with a friend. We caught around 25, biggest was 2.5 lbs. About half were 10-12" dinks. Mostly on Carolina rigs with plastic craws. A few on the drop shot also. There's about a 1/2 dozen boats that sit out in the main lake looking for a top water bite, talked to one of them back at the ramp and he said there wasn't much of a bite this morning. We did see some fish chasing shad up on the bank, but not a lot.
