Blll Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Hey guys, I've got a friend traveling through tomorrow and he wants to go fishing Thursday evening. I haven't been out for a couple weeks and not much being reported here lately. Anybody got any kind of an evening bite going on? PC, Ventris, islands???
RyanG Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Last week I was finding some white bass schooling around the islands. I've also been catching a few bass out of the flooded brush but be prepared to make a couple hundred casts for maybe a few fish, at least that's how it has been for me. If neither of those things seem to be producing well, the only other thing I have had a bit of success with is drop shotting deep docks or docks near deep water, 20-30 feet. Hope this helps a bit!
Dan the fisherman Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 I fished near the dam 6-14-15 and did well from 3-9pm. Got some smallies, ketucks, and small LMB in 25-30 FOW. Took me a couple of hrs to figure that out and to actually locate them. But with a little effort u will be rewarded....Think points, jigging spoons and drop shot. Worked for me n e way. Hope that helps. fisherofmen11 1
J-Doc Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 I honestly don't know that I could find a fish if I trolled a sane net behind me. Well......my electronics will find them. Getting bites is a different story. I think next trip I will empty the boat and take one rod only. And one bait. And I'll then catch fish. I'm that confident in it. And I've got a little something extra for it that I haven't tried yet so I'm anxious to know if it works. Now that being said.... No clue on your question. Look for offshore humps and use your electronics. Mark a spot then back way off of it. Turn off everything. Then sit and camp on it and fish like you were fishing in 40 degree water. Have to slow down based on what I've been seeing. I'very had luck fishing in new waters this year and then next week I have nothing. Seems to me, an aggressive presentation has to be just exactly perfect to get a bite. Some can just flat catch-em'...me, I struggle some days. Others I'm doing great. So if they are not aggressive, slower than freezing snot in Maine is what they want. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
