Members JVH Posted July 17, 2015 Members Posted July 17, 2015 Hello everyone, Thanks for allowing me to join your forum. I'm looking for itinerary suggestions for an upcoming outdoors bachelor trip. We have around 7 people and a borrowed RV, and are looking to pack as much outdoor stuff into about 4 days. Desired Itinerary (in order of importance): Canoeing (w/ 1 or 2 days on the river), Fishing, Visit the hot springs, Hiking, Disk Golf, Local Breweries, Rock climbing/ bouldering, Swimming holes, and other awesomeness. Looking for any suggestions on your favorite... 1. RV campgrounds central to the action? 2. Cheap Canoe rentals? Best sections of the Buffalo, this time of year? Camping along the river? Fishing licenses for out of state guests? 3. Locations (nearby or clustered together) to do the other activities listed above? 4. Advice on any other cool places that we need to hit up? Thanks in advance for your help. The Park website and Trip Advisor were great, but I would really love some more insightful advice from any locals. We've got a lot we are hoping to do in just a few days, so I really appreciate you all sharing your knowledge of the area. JVH
jtram Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Bach party float trip? Forget the Buffalo, hit the Elk with a pile of beads on a Saturday, cheap strip club . Not sure about RV spots, but I would guess most outfitters will be very close in pricing. Not too much going on within a short distance of the Buffalo, but maybe someone else can help you out with that. Good luck, sounds fun!
Members Otis Roostertail Posted July 21, 2015 Members Posted July 21, 2015 North Fork of the White River - Canoeing - various paid campgrounds (Dawt, Petit, Twin Bridges, Sunburst, etc.) along with state campground at Patrick Bridge Access. Fishing can be done on Norfork Lake and Bull Shoals Lake. White River State Park just below the dam at Bull Shoals. Fishing on the White River. Hiking can be done at Devil's Backbone (Mark Twain N.F.) or Caney Mountain Conservation Area. No hot springs close by. Local Watering holes include Royal 66, Buffalo Wild Wings, Arena Sports Bar and Grill in Mountain Home,Arkansas. Arkansas non-resident 7 day fishinglicense = $25.00 - Trout Permit $12.00 - If you are a Missouri Resident then a border lakes permit will cover Norfork and Bull Shoals lakes BUT NOT the tail-waters. Hope y'all have a great time! Otis Men and Fish are alike....They all get into trouble when they open their mouths....
