Mike jones Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Your right..Grand can be bad too. Let me ask all the Beaver regulars this...how many times have you been on Beaver in the trough of 2 waves and couldn't see anything but water on both sides?! I can't count the times this has happened to me over the years on Lake of the Ozarks!!
Members showmebass Posted July 19, 2015 Author Members Posted July 19, 2015 That is true. LOL is a complete danger zoo. It's like running with lions loose in the jungle. And why I would never live there. It's worth if for the quality of fish they have up there. I think it's a little rougher than Grand in terms of boat traffic, but I believe Grand is a better "meat" lake. The quality of Grand's fish in size and quantity is pretty awesome.
RyanG Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 I've had some terrible days with boat traffic on beaver, that being said I know there is much worse. But with hot weather, some traffic and a hard bite right now I am just cooling off and waiting it out right now. Besides, I have a busy schedule with the u of a fishing team this fall so gotta save some money up for that! Haha. My old rig sucks the gas down too much to be running all over beaver right now. Lol.
Members uofastudent Posted July 19, 2015 Members Posted July 19, 2015 There is no comparing beaver to LOZ. It's unsafe to be on ski boats at times with risk of being swamped because of all the cigarette boats. The sheer number and size is something to be in awe of.

The sheer number and size is something to be in awe of. That's what I've heard. I've been on LOWER twice buy I was sheltered on the upper Gravois arm where the cig boats don't traverse. But I saw how massive it was and the type of boats that are on it. No thanks. I prefer to live. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. J-Doc Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Never been on LOZO, but it would be hard to beat Grand. From what I've heard by many, both are bad. But the volume of hi speed craft and yacht sizes is overwhelming at LOZ. I've seen boats (docked) on LOZ that belong in the ocean. Need marine repair? J-Doc Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 What's sad is the amount of cig boats this year on Beaver. Beaver is headin towards being a "Little Grand Lake". But without the big bass population and still having all the tournaments. Lol! Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! Fortunately the COE won't likely allow Beaver to become completely surrounded by houses and docks like LOZ is, although those docks sure do improve the fishin IMO.
